Fußball Transfers reports that Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are said to be interested in RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
The Uzbekistan international has begun to attract interest from a variety of teams due to his performances with the Northern French side. Khusanov has played 13 times in Ligue 1 this season as Lens have the second-best defence in the whole league.
Khusanov is said to have recently met with representatives from Manchester City while members of the French side were also present in the meeting. Newcastle and Real Madrid are also said to have a good chance of signing the 20-year-old. The defender’s contract expires in 2027.
While from the Bundesliga both Dortmund and Leverkusen would also have a chance if Khusanov becomes available. A central defender would be good for both sides as Dortmund lack central defensive options at the moment due to Niklas Süle’s injury, while Leverkusen must begin to prepare for the departure of Jonathan Tah in the summer, as his contract expires.
However, it would be difficult for them to compete financially with these teams.
