Two Major WWE Matches Booked for AJ Styles

The 48-year-old is going all in this year, as he is officially scheduled to compete in two high-profile bouts before the month ends. AJ Styles will face Gunther at the Royal Rumble 2026 Premium Live Event with his career on the line. The Ring General introduced the stipulation after Styles demanded a rematch.

This past Friday, Styles appeared in a backstage segment with SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis. During the chat, he was interrupted by one of his greatest rivals, former United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. The King of Strong Style challenged The Phenomenal One for one last dance.

The former world champion quickly accepted the challenge, asking Aldis to book him against Nakamura for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIII, which is just hours away as of this writing.

That said, it will be interesting to see how things turn out for Styles and whether his career ends at Royal Rumble. Do Triple H and the WWE creative team have a surprise in store for The Phenomenal One? Only time will tell.
