The new Bella Ridge Golf Club in Johnstown, Colorado, will open for preview play Oct. 6, with a full opening planned for 2026. The daily-fee layout is about a 45-minute drive north of Denver and was constructed on the rolling hills of a former dairy farm.

Bella Ridge was designed by Colorado native Art Schaupeter, who also designed the nearby TPC Colorado. Bella Ridge offers some 200 feet of elevations changes with wide fairways and views of Longs Peak in the distance.

Work is still ongoing around the clubhouse, and the practice facility will open in 2026. The farm is owned by the Podtburg family, and the idea of a course was seeded a decade ago.

“This has been an exciting project to be a part of,” Schaupeter said in a media release announcing the preview play opportunity. “The Podtburgs have been committed from Day 1 to building a wonderful public-access golf course, and from my first tour around the property I knew that this land could yield something special. I think the golf experience will be very fun and interesting for all golfers. Each hole has its own individual character and challenge. Golfers will find that the course continues to ratchet up in interest, challenge and fun throughout the round.”
