Architect Beau Welling has wrapped up an extensive renovation of Cowboys Golf Club near Dallas, and if you’re a fan of the NFL team of the same name, you’ve got to see the place. The work included a redesigned 18-hole course, a Dallas Cowboys themed practice facility and an 18-hole putting course.

Architect Beau Welling has completed a renovation of the course at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, Texas. The club leans in fully on its Dallas Cowboys themes.

Owned by Arcis Golf, which operates 88 courses in the U.S., Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine was ranked by Golfweek’s Best as the No. 13 public-access course in Texas before the renovation. Arcis bills the facility as the only NFL-themed golf club in the world.

Welling, who frequently works alongside Tiger Woods in designing other courses, touched every part of Cowboys as part of a comprehensive master plan. The company’s in-house design and construction team did the work. The following details were included in a media release:

  • All 18 greens were expanded and modernized with dramatic contours and new hole locations.

  • Cowboys Golf Club is the first in the nation to feature Tif3D Bermuda grass on all 20 greens (18 holes plus the practice facility), ensuring consistent, pristine conditions year-round.

  • Five sets of tees were rebuilt on each hole with a classic square design.

  • Every greenside bunker complex was repositioned to better frame the greens and elevate the short-game challenge.

  • Architectural styling and bunkering features were comprehensively reimagined.

  • Bunkers on the par-3 third hole were relocated to the front of the green, allowing the hillside backdrop to prominently showcase the Dallas Cowboys’ star logo.

  • The driving range features a 60-yard-long stretch of artificial turf from the Cowboy’s home at AT&T Stadium, and the range includes a regulation NFL goal post plus 14 Toptracer stations.

  • The 18-hole putting course, named The Huddle, features an acre of Cowboys-blue turf. Each of the putting course’s holes starts with a Cowboys star.

The facility also features Super Bowl trophies, legendary coach Tom Landry’s famous fedora and other team mementoes. Stone markers around the course mention famous Cowboys moments.
