FC Barcelona are always on the lookout for talented young players who could improve their squad. Last summer saw the Blaugrana sign Roony Bardghji, who, despite having limited opportunities, has performed well in his debut season.

Heading into the upcoming transfer window, which is still a few months away, the La Liga champions have seemingly set their sights on another young attacking talent who has been making waves in France.

Barcelona keeping tabs on Malick Fofana

Indeed, as per Onze Mondial (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Barcelona are interested in the possibility of signing promising Belgian winger Malick Fofana, who currently plays for Olympique Lyon.

The French club remains in a phase of financial recovery and could be forced to make some sales in the summer, with Barça alert to the possibility of making a move for the 20-year-old attacker.

Given the situation, there is a belief that Fofana could be available for around €30 million in the summer – the exact amount for which the Blaugrana can sign Marcus Rashford permanently from Manchester United.

Fofana has played only nine Ligue 1 matches so far this season, after suffering a right ankle injury in October. He scored two and assisted one goal during those appearances.

During the previous campaign, Fofana contributed 11 goals and six assists in 41 matches. It had led to him being linked to Liverpool as a possible replacement for Luis Diaz, but a transfer never came to be.

Now, despite currently recovering from injury, the 20-year-old winger appears to be on the radars of Barcelona. It remains to be seen whether the La Liga champions do act on their interest or firm up on signing Rashford permanently.
