Once the FIFA international window passes, the league phase of the UEFA Champions League will get underway. The Parisians open up their title defense on September 17 against Atalanta. However, the marquee matchup early on will be when they face FC Barcelona on October 1.

Both teams were on a collision course for the UEFA Champions League final. Nonetheless, the Spanish side would fall to Inter Milan in the semifinal, leading to PSG’s convincing win over the Italian side.

Maybe it’s not a final, but everyone finally gets to see the Parisians take on Barcelona in the league phase. Moreover, before this contest, the Spanish have reportedly received good news.

RAC1 reports that UEFA has approved Barcelona’s return to Spotify Camp Nou for the Champions League group stage. The report adds that even if the Catalan side’s first game against PSG can’t be played there, the club has been given the green light to host their next matches at the stadium.

There’s no doubt that Barcelona want to face PSG at their newly renevated stadium to draw in a bigger crowd for this big time European match. Still, it will be interesting to see if they have all the optics ready for this clash.
