The world of golf was beside itself late Saturday night.

LIV Golf was wrapping up its Adelaide event in Australia which meant for some late-night watching, never a bad thing, and we were treated to quite the show.

Anthony Kim, the man who stormed onto the professional golf scene originally almost two decades ago, was in the hunt for his first professional win since 2010 (what was the Shell Houston Open at the time). He was battling against Jon Rahm of all people to get it… coming back from anything is never an easy chore.

Kim was remarkable in his Sunday round in Adelaide as he went 9-under to secure a 3-stroke victory.

Kim’s return to the winner’s circle is nothing short of remarkable. In his time between professional wins he battled injury and substance abuse. He has been vocal about how becoming a father changed his perspective on life at large… seeing him embrace the moment like this was a win for mankind.

As the action unfolded golf fans all over the world were glued into seeing Kim’s final stretch. It was a crescendo that never ended and that he will remember forever.

While Kim took home the individual title at LIV Golf Adelaide it was Rippers GC who won as a team. Cam Smith, their captain and a proud Australian, spoke about Kim’s victory and what it meant for golf, LIV, and everything:

“It’s so good. If it wasn’t one of us this week, to have him win here in Adelaide at our premier event is pretty cool. I’m so happy for him. He’s worked hard. I actually played with Anthony his first round back in Saudi a few years ago, and it was scrappy to say the least, and I was very skeptical at the start. But what he’s been able to do over the past couple of seasons and dig deep and grind out and then do what he did today is pretty special. Congrats to him. I’m so happy for him.”

Congratulations to Anthony Kim.
