The Seattle Seahawks have a Super Bowl to prepare for, and they may have to prepare for losing their offensive coordinator.
Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb is apparently out of the running to coach the Las Vegas Raiders. That’s relevant to the Seahawks if only because the only other strong candidate for Vegas to replace Pete Carroll is Seattle play-caller Klint Kubiak.
Kubiak is scheduled for a second interview with the Raiders on Saturday, which is just about the last possible day either the Raiders or Arizona Cardinals can interview Kubiak before Seattle begins traveling to California for the Super Bowl.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero is also in the running, but Kubiak at the moment is the only one who’s slated for a second interview.
It should be noted that the Kubiak family has ties to Raiders general manager John Spytek. An article from The Athletic’s Vic Tafur and Tashan Reed chronicled Spytek’s hiring by the Raiders, including Klint’s dad Gary’s relationship with Spytek when Gary led the Denver Broncos to a Super Bowl. Spytek was a national scout for the Broncos at the time.
When Kubiak was getting up to speed that offseason, he leaned on Spytek.
“What I remember about Spy is he was one of the people that (was) giving me a grasp on the team, what I had, what they thought our strengths were, what we had to do to continue to move forward and have a chance to win a championship,” Kubiak said in a phone interview. “He helped get me comfortable with the team so that I could get in there and work with my coaches and start to break down our needs and get ready for the draft. He was a big, big asset to me.”
The Broncos won Super Bowl 50 in Kubiak’s first season as coach.
“It takes certain people to be leaders of others,” Kubiak said. “And Spy, that’s what he’s got in him. … He’s a very upbeat, positive, good person that’s very good at motivating others around him. They didn’t want to let him down.”
Of course, this doesn’t mean Klint is a lock to be the next Raiders head coach, but a decision may be coming sooner rather than later.

If next week is to be Kubiak’s finale as Seahawks offensive coordinator, hopefully the end result is similar to Kellen Moore, who won the Super Bowl as the Philadelphia Eagles OC before joining the New Orleans Saints as a first-time head coach.
