The top Division I golfers in Greater Akron will be in action this week in district tournaments.

Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley is hosting the boys district tournament Oct. 6 and Tanglewood Golf Club in Chagrin Falls is hosting the girls district tournament Oct. 7.

Here is a breakdown of the golfers to watch at the district tournaments after the top four teams and top four individuals not on a qualifying team advanced from each sectional tournament.

Medalist Ben Fauver leads Hudson to Division I sectional title

Junior Ben Fauver shot a 70 to earn the medalist honor Sept. 29 in a sectional tournament at Windmill Lakes Golf Course in Ravenna.

Fauver also led Hudson to a first-place finish in the team standings with a score of 291.

Stow (310), Walsh Jesuit (317) and Brecksville (320) rounded out the top four teams.

Hudson junior Jerry Du finished second individually with a 71 and Hudson junior Dexter James finished third with a 72.Stow junior Carter Edwards carded a 75 to finish fourth. Walsh senior Anthony Spain and junior Kale Zurakowski both shot 76 to tie for fifth.

Stow junior Oliver Huff shot a 77 to tie for seventh with Brecksville senior Tyler Pickard.

Hudson senior Sam Schmitt, Stow senior Tyler Cheetham, Twinsburg senior Mica Thirion and Brecksville senior Leo Carey all shot a 78 to tie for ninth and advance. Hudson junior Barrett Atchison placed 13th with a 79.

Six golfers — Stow senior Eddie Norman, Stow junior Gavin Schneider, Twinsburg senior Dominic Moavero, Walsh junior Mossimo Russo, Howland senior Bode Biggin and Kenston junior Hunter Yates — shot 80s to tie for 14th and advance.

Medalist Ben Berridge leads Hoban to Division I sectional title

Junior Ben Berridge shot a 68 to earn the medalist honor Sept. 30 in a sectional tournament at J.E. Good Park Golf Course in Akron.

Berridge also led Hoban to a first-place finish as a team with a 301. Medina (315), Buckeye (318) and North Royalton (326) rounded out the top four teams.

Wadsworth senior Michael Fahey finished second individually with a 75. Revere junior Tommy Kinder and Medina freshman Trent Riedel each carded a 76 to tie for third.

Hoban sophomore Ray Koeberle, Meina sophomore Declan West and North Royalton junior Ryan Wilson each shot a 77 to tie for fifth.

Hoban freshman Nick Pollak, Hoban senior Ethan Cooper and Buckeye senior Blaise Bir shot 78 to tie for 8th.

Highland freshman Michael Caza shot a 79 to tie for 11th with Buckeye senior Luca Violi and Buckeye freshman Michael Valus.

Medina senior Cameron Stafford was 14th with an 80 and Copley sophomore Chase Filomena finished 15th with an 81 to advance.

Silas Kirkpatrick leads Green to district golf tournament

Green senior Silas Kirkpatrick shot a 74 to tie with Canfield senior Nathan Miller for second place at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance Sept. 29. Jackson won the team title with a 310, Canfield was second with a 315, North Canton Hoover took third with a 316 and Green placed fourth with a 319.

Jackson senior Raffaele Scassa won the medalist honor with a 71. Hoover sophomore Anthony Gambone was fourth with a 75 and Lake sophomore Peyton Putnam took fifth with a 77.

Medalist Vivian Eich leads Walsh Jesuit to Division I sectional title

Sophomore Vivian Eich earned medalist honors with a 68 to lead Walsh Jesuit to a sectional team title at Fox Den Golf Course in Stow Oct. 1. Sophomore Sarah Vojtko and junior Yumi Kohara finished second with a 72 and third with a 73, respectively, for the Warriors.

Junior Elena Varga carded a 74 for second-place Hudson (332). Nordonia (336) and Revere (345) advanced as teams with third- and fourth-place finishes.

Nordonia senior Natalie Barnes finished fifth with a 76 and St. Vincent-St. Mary senior Caitrin Coyle was sixth with a 77. Revere junior Ryenne Harpley finished seventh with a 79.

Hudson freshman Rachel Rush carded an 80 to tie for eighth with Mayfield junior Julie Paradise. Nordonia senior Madisen Eisner and Walsh senior Colleen Stadler both shot an 81 to tie for 10th. Walsh senior Gianna Rodenhauser placed 12th with an 82, Brecksville junior Alaina Liem was 13th with an 83 and STVM senior Rylee Hoover shot an 84 to finish 14th and advance.

Adrianna Mineo guides Kent to district golf tournament

Kent Roosevelt was one of the top four teams in the sectional tournament at Old Avalon Golf Course in Warren Oct. 1. Senior Adrianna Mineo placed sixth with an 80 to lead the Rough Riders, who finished with a 353, well behind first-place Canfield (309). Kent sophomore Brooke Beatty shot an 86 to tie for 11th with three other golfers. Canfield junior Aubree Philibin and Solon senior Serena Wu each shot a 72 to finish as co-medalist.

Elizabeth Coleman leads Highland to district golf tournament

Highland utilized its fifth golfer to win a championship at The Elms Country Club in North Lawrence Sept. 29. Highland and North Canton Hoover each scored 318, but the Hornets prevailed with senior Miley Tylicki’s 91 being four shots better than Hoover’s fifth golfer. Brunswick (328) and Jackson (352) took third and fourth.

Brunswick sophomore Ellie Gonzalez-Ribble earned the medalist honor with a 70. Highland senior Elizabeth Coleman and Hoover junior Ellie Hutzler each shot 72 to tie for second place. Hoover freshman Frankie Hutzler placed fourth with a 77.

Lake freshman Audrey Goebelt shot a 78 to tie for fifth with Jackson junior Kennedy Farrell. Green senior Brooke Shocklee finished seventh with 80. Highland senior Mirabella Shelton carded an 81 to tie for eighth with Hoover senior Amelia Mohler.

Highland senior Allie Miller shot an 82 to tie for 10th with Brunswick freshman Emma Gonzalez-Ribble. Highland senior Kate Vickerman took 12th with an 83. Green junior Leah Dang and Lake sophomore Charlie Brophy each shot an 84 to tie for 13th and advance.
