AJ Lee has reacted to her husband CM Punk winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Punk defeated Jey Uso to win the vacant title at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI.
Punk’s win marked his 7th overall WWE World Championship win and his 2nd of the year. At SummerSlam 2025, he defeated Gunther to win the title, but was dethroned moments later by Seth Rollins, who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.
Courtesy of her Instagram story, Lee reacted to Punk’s title win and sent him a message saying how proud she and Larry were of him.
“proud mama and larry @cmpunk,” wrote Lee.

CM Punk on the difficulties he and AJ Lee had to face after his WWE exit
CM Punk and AJ Lee began dating sometime in 2013 before The Best in the World departed the Stamford-based company. At the time, Lee was still signed to the WWE and worked for a year before stepping away from Professional Wrestling.
Speaking on the Cold as Balls podcast with Kevin Hart, Punk was asked what it was like to be married to a fellow professional wrestler. The former WWE Champion said:
“It was difficult because when I left, she was still with the company for a year. That was a hard year for us, relationship-wise. But it made everything after that so much easier. (…) I found my person. She’s 100% my partner,”
Punk and Lee teamed up at the Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event to defeat Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. This was Lee’s in-ring return after 10 years. The former Divas Champion has been off TV since her and Punk’s win at Wrestlepalooza, while keeping herself busy with other ventures outside the squared circle.
Lee has also teased the idea of challenging for Becky Lynch’s WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
