Jean-Philippe Mateta (28) had looked set to complete a move to Nottingham Forest, however, there could be a late twist, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
Mateta, who earlier this season became a France international, has been keen on departing Crystal Palace this month. It comes amid a period of turbulence at the London club. Oliver Glasner will leave at the end of the season, whilst club captain Marc Guéhi recently left to join Manchester City.

Mateta now looks set to be a part of that mass exodus. The striker has already said yes to a move to Nottingham Forest, as per a report from Foot Mercato. The publication adds that an agreement between clubs is also close.
However, Tavolieri understands that AC Milan are trying to hijack the deal. The Serie A side are even confident of doing so, the journalist understands. Time is of the essence to complete the transfer.
