Joe Hendry reveals original plans for WWE main roster debut

Hendry made his main roster debut on the April 27 episode of RAW and had a live concert on the show. However, he was originally planned to be on the show a week earlier.

In a recent interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Joe Hendry talked about his new music album Beyond Belief. He then talked about how the song “Fire Logan Paul” came together and was put into the album.

The former TNA World Champion revealed the story behind it, sharing that he was originally planned to make his debut on the April 20 episode of RAW.

“We added Fire Logan Paul. That’s another interesting story because I was supposed to debut the night after WrestleMania, and the song I had was the same song, but it was ‘Raw, Raw, Joe Hendry signed to Raw.’ Then what happened was they’d announced that I was going to be on Raw the next week. Because what I was going to say was something that rhymed with SmackDown, I was going to say something like back down because I have signed to Raw. That was what the gag was going to be. But I think Cole had said it, and there was like a graphic,” he said.

This is the point when the former NXT champion decided that he had to pivot. When he found out that he was working with The Vision, he went after Logan Paul.

“I was like, we need to pivot here, and then I found out that I was going to be working with The Vision. I’ve always learned in wrestling that you have to go after the biggest, baddest name. Well, the one name who’s got the most controversy and fame is Logan. So I’ll just go directly after Logan, and the words fit right in. So that’s how the Fire Logan Paul song came about, and then it just kind of blew up beyond what we had maybe expected, and then yeah, had to put it on the album,” he added.

Joe Hendry recently returned to NXT

While Joe Hendry has been actively performing on RAW, he returned to NXT recently.

Last week, he was spotted at the Performance Center ahead of NXT. Hendry was at the PC with fans to shoot a music video. His Beyond Belief album will be released on October 5 through WWE Music.

The album will include songs like “Fire Logan Paul,” “Give Joe Hendry Every Single Belt,” and “If You Don’t Love Joe Hendry,” among other tracks.
