Recently, Ripley’s former tag team partner IYO SKY appeared for an interview on The Ringer Wrestling Show. She was asked whether she had been in touch with Ripley during her in-ring absence.

“So, I’m not a texting person. I’m not a phone call person, so we haven’t talked too much, like talk, talk, talk, but I told her I understand what she does and why she needed to take time for now. I really know she was being too busy, way busier than me. She was all over the world, she had main events, she had championship matches, and she had media interviews,” she said.

The former Women’s World Champion then talked about Rhea Ripley’s busy schedule and said she thought she was overworking before her injury.

“I was thinking about when we were RHIYO; she’d been to Crown Jewel in Australia, and she was crazy busy. I was always watching her. Sometimes, I think about her, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s overworking, something like that.’ Now, she’s injured. That makes me sad, but she needs time to take time…but also, I know her personality. She will come back when she is much stronger than before,” she added.

Rhea Ripley shared an update amid WWE absence

As Rhea Ripley continues to recover, she has kept her fans updated about her health through social media.

A few days ago, she made a post on her Instagram, sharing a photo of herself in the gym and noting that she is “consistently grinding.” While there is no clear update on when she would return to the ring, this does raise hopes of a swift return.

Her last match on WWE programming came at Clash in Italy when she beat Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. Ripley competed in a couple of matches on WWE live events after that but has been out of action since June 3.
