Randy Orton has some issues with the RKO

Over the years, the Apex Predator’s name has become synonymous with the RKO. A few years ago, while speaking to The Sportster, Randy Orton said he regrets choosing the RKO as his finishing move.

“I kind of wish I could go back in time and create a finishing move that didn’t entail me jumping up as high as I can and landing on my back. After doing that a couple of thousand times over the last few decades, I’m starting to feel it,” Randy Orton said.

Orton feels this way because the move has taken a toll on his spine. Despite that, he is glad the move has become popular and is now his brand. While speaking on the Pat McAfee Show earlier this year, Orton recounted a conversation with Logan Paul in which Paul said he knew what the RKO was before he knew who Randy Orton was.

“I’ve had that same finish for almost my whole career. When I first met Logan Paul, he was like, ‘Man.’ I was doing the Vines, and I was doing the RKOs. He said, ‘I didn’t know who you were, but I knew what the RKO was.’ And I was like, ‘Uh, thanks.’ But that’s just an example that, like — it superseded everything that I was as a brand. The RKO has helped Apex Predator capture multiple World Championships, and Orton is currently trying to capture his 15th title.
