After more than a year of working under the mask of El Grande Americano, Chad Gable has returned to his former persona, and for the first time since March 2025, he will wrestle as Gable on RAW.

Adam Pearce noted that he will face Rusev on RAW, after he made the save last week when Rusev and Ricky Saints had attacked Rey Mysterio and Penta following their Intercontinental Championship match.

Gable has been under the mask of El Grande Americano for more than a year, but in the midst of this, he also suffered a shoulder injury that he was unable to return from until the Royal Rumble.

It has been a strange situation surrounding Chad Gable since making his return after he was unmasked as El Grande Americano. Adam Pearce has welcomed him to RAW to face Rusev, and it seems that he could have made his return to the RAW brand, but he has also appeared on SmackDown.

Gable appears to have a lot of apologies to dish out to some of his former friends and luchadores that he has offended. It seems that Alpha Academy could be next on his list this week, but he also has to get past Rusev.

It will be interesting to see if Rey Mysterio and Penta will be waiting in the wings to help him if he is attacked following his match, in the same way that he helped them last week.

Gable is now a face on the red brand, so it seems that Mysterio and Penta could step up to help him if needed, and with the issues in Alpha Academy at present, he may be able to reunite with his former friends as well.
