It’s unclear what the reason behind the two departures is, but TNA has since sent out a press release formally acknowledging the exit of both stars. Maclin is a former Impact World Champion and someone who was well respected in the company, so his exit has sent shockwaves through the wrestling business.

“TNA Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Myla Grace and Steve Maclin, effective immediately. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.” The company officially announced that the duo has left TNA, as fans online have been left shocked by the move.

Before Maclin was seen as one of TNA’s most consistent performers, he was working for WWE alongside Wesley Blake and Jaxson Ryker as a member of The Forgotten Sons.

The stable was one of WWE’s more memorable and was able to move from NXT to SmackDown, before Ryker departed, and Blake and Cutler were then able to work with Baron Corbin as The Knights of the Lone Wolf. This was a short-lived story for the duo, and he was later let go by the company in February 2021.

Of the two releases, Maclin is without a doubt more shocking, and the most shocking part is that he asked for it. It’s unclear what this means for his future, but there could be moves to WWE, AEW, or even NJPW in the future for him, since he has the experience and versatility to slot in whichever company is in need of a star of his calibre.

Maclin’s wife, Deonna Purrazzo, is currently working in AEW, which could be a clue when it comes to his direction following his departure from TNA.

At 39 years old, it’s clear that he still has a few years in the ring ahead of him, but many fans are pushing to find out what was behind the decision for TNA to part ways with two beloved members of their roster.
