The current World Champion shared Triple H’s post on his Instagram stories, which features just Roman Reigns on the poster for the show.

Traditionally, Roman Reigns has skipped the show after WrestleMania, since Backlash is always seen as a B-level event. There are usually only around five matches on the card, and the show has taken place in several different countries in recent years.

Back in 2023, Puerto Rico was the host, followed by France in 2024, and the return to the US in 2025 when Randy Orton battled John Cena in his hometown of St. Louis.

This year’s is in Tampa, Florida, which is close to Pensacola, where Reigns himself is from. This could be one of the main reasons why Reigns will be part of the show, as announced by Triple H last night and by The OTC this morning.

What will Roman Reigns be doing at WWE Backlash

It’s interesting that WWE has already announced that Reigns will be at Backlash, because his actual plans for the show remain up in the air.

With just two weeks to go, there is usually at least one match announced, but The Tribal Chief will be able to announce the main event for the show himself on RAW if he accepts Jacob Fatu’s challenge.

Reigns will likely push him into a match against one of The Usos, and if he wins, then he will accept, rather than this being another promo segment to end WWE RAW. Fatu has proved himself to The Bloodline several times, but he needs to prove that he has what it takes to challenge Reigns in the Backlash main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
