Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
NFL Draft superlatives: From most likely Eagles first-rounder to best Philly-area prospect – The Athletic
Who is the most likely Eagles draft pick in the first round?
Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor or Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling fit this description. If the Eagles had their way, my guess is they’d draft an offensive tackle. Both are high-upside linemen who could become potential Lane Johnson replacements with development. Proctor has the added benefit of being able to swing inside to guard early in his career. Both are under 22 years old and come from programs the Eagles trust. (Five of the Eagles’ last six first-round picks came from Alabama or Georgia.) The question is whether they’ll slip to a territory for the Eagles. Dane Brugler projected Freeling to go No. 17 to the Detroit Lions and Proctor to fall to the Eagles at No. 23. Howie Roseman hasn’t drafted an offensive lineman in the first round since 2019. He takes pride in building along the line of scrimmage. You can’t dictate the board, but it would make sense for Roseman to put his philosophy into action.

Freeling a Draft – Iggles Blitz
OT Kadyn Proctor could also be a target. He’s 6-7, 352 and has good feet. The knock on Proctor is that he got up in the 380 to 390 range this season and didn’t play to his full potential. Put on his tape against little R Mason Thomas and you’ll see some issues. Proctor got in shape for the Combine and looked great. If his NFL team can keep the weight down, he could be a very good OT. I don’t think he’s got the same ceiling as Freeling, but he is unique due to his combination of size and footwork. Some think Proctor could be a dominant OG. If the Eagles took him, they could have him compete for the RG job as a rookie and then move to RT whenver Lane retires. Proctor will likely go in the teens. A month ago there was some thought he might make it to 23, but that seems less likely. If Freeling goes first, Proctor could become the apple of Howie’s eye.
Some tough decisions in Eagles-only fan-sourced mock draft – NBCSP
Round 1-23: Kadyn Proctor, OT, Alabama. The Eagles find their Lane Johnson replacement in Round 1. While there’s plenty of buzz about Proctor (6-6, 352) going before the Eagles’ pick at 23, this would represent good value for the Birds. Proctor is an enormous offensive tackle who could probably play guard too. His weight is something to watch in the NFL but Proctor has a very high ceiling after already being a three-year starter at Alabama.
Ranking 11 linebackers in the 2026 NFL Draft – BGN
5. Josiah Trotter, Missouri. Overall: A physical, instinctive linebacker whose toughness and tackling reflect a traditional downhill profile. There are some coverage limitations that will need addressing, but his run-defending instincts are reliable. Eagles Thoughts: I loved the last Trotter coming out of college, and I’m glad he’s still on the Eagles. They can’t add another one, right? Jokes aside, I do like Josiah, and having both Trotters on the roster would be cool. But I can’t see the Eagles drafting him at the round he ends up going in.

5) CB Jalen Mills, 7th round, 2016: Mills wasn’t always the most popular Eagles player when he was in Philadelphia, but he was the CB1 of a championship team and he made some big plays along the way, notably his coverage on Julio Jones on the final play of the Divisional Round game against the Falcons in the 2017 playoffs. He also dyed his hair green and he wagged his finger whenever a quarterback would overthrow a receiver by 10 yards.

Nick Foles: A.J. Brown wants to be traded – PFT
“They have a first-year coordinator in Sean Mannion,” Foles said. “You don’t want to deal with, you know, what they dealt with last year with A.J. Now, A.J. had merit looking back. Like, why was he frustrated? Well, it was the concepts of the offense and how it was [run] with Kevin Patullo. Looking back, that’s maybe what the frustration was. Was it with Jalen Hurts? I don’t know. I’m not in the facility. No idea. But because of those things and different people I know around the league that know A.J. a little bit . . .what I’ve gathered is, [he] wants to be traded, but I also think like he wants to be traded to specific places.
Eagles’ Super Bowl champ Alshon Jeffery arrested for fraud stemming from car crash – Inquirer
Alshon Jeffery, the former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver who helped the team win their first Super Bowl, was arrested and charged with insurance fraud in California, according to court documents.
Jeffery’s insurance policy on his Mercedes-Benz had lapsed when he rear-ended a Tesla driven by a Lyft driver with a passenger on Interstate 5 in San Diego on Sept. 21, according to the complaint, described to The Inquirer by a public affairs officer with the Superior Court of California, San Diego. Prosecutors claim Jeffery, 36, then obtained a new car insurance policy on Sept. 24 and filed a false claim, in which he admitted to the crash but claimed it took place on Sept. 28, so the damages would’ve been covered. The damage to Jeffery’s Mercedes-Benz was estimated to be about $13,000, while the cost of the damage inflicted on the Tesla was estimated to be over $10,000.
Spadaro: How the Eagles are navigating offensive changes this offseason – PhiladelphiaEagles.com
With new coaches come new systems, new terminology and, in many instances, new asks of players. A different demand of skillsets, if you will. Eagles Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman understands all of the above, so as he digs into the final week of preparation for the 2026 NFL Draft, he has that in mind: The team has a new offensive coordinator in Sean Mannion, and with that any player he brings in via the Draft – and, for that matter, via free agency and all of the moves made to this point – must take into consideration what the new iteration of the Eagles offense requires of players. How much? Roseman said the issue is relatively minor when it comes to, for example, offensive linemen. “Certainly, there are tweaks when you have a new scheme and new coaches come in, but I think that we got a good system that fits the players and the people that we’ve brought in and so I’m excited about continuing to add,” he said last week.
Eagles legend Jason Kelce spotted on ice at Flyers practice before playoffs – Broad Street Hockey
The Philadelphia Flyers need all the help they can get to make a significant and deep run in the playoffs this season, and it looks like one of the city’s living legends is getting involved. Jason Kelce is synonymous with Philadelphia sports as the former Eagles center has remained extremely active in the city and now with the Flyers being the hottest team in the city — no offense to the Sixers’ current playoff run and how the Phillies are doing to start their season — he’s getting right back on board. There are plenty of ways to do it, and we’re sure Kelce will be popping up throughout the Flyers’ first-round series against the archrival Pittsburgh Penguins, but before the puck drops for Game 1 on Saturday night, he’s getting the hockey going in his blood again. The 38-year-old Philadelphia icon was seen skating around in full hockey equipment after team practice at Flyers Training Center in Voorhees on Friday. [BLG Note: Let’s go Flyers!]

Eagles WR Darius Cooper and Miss Pa. meet with family of slain trooper – NBC10
It was a fun Friday for hundreds of students at Brandywine Wallace Elementary School in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Darius Cooper and Miss Pennsylvania Victoria Vespico visited the school to speak with the children about the power of kindness and acceptance as part of Autism Acceptance Month. “It was so exciting. It was just a blessing to be out here with the kids,” Cooper said. “They put a smile on my face.”
Under no circumstances should the Cowboys trade up in the first round – Blogging The Boys
If the Cowboys do, in fact, trade up in the first round, it has to be for a player they are absolutely convinced will be a star – and they have to be right. Given the level of uncertainty around how this draft will play out past the first pick, it’s not hard to argue that this class lacks a ton of surefire hits. In fact, the potential to miss on a pick is arguably higher than it’s been the last few years. What all of this comes down to is one simple truth: the Cowboys cannot, under any circumstances, trade up in this draft.
NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Three Ohio State players featured; More trade downs – Hogs Haven
Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love had been the popular pick up until this week. His consensus mock position is No. 4 overall to the Tennessee Titans. There were still 11 mock drafters that wanted to pair Love with Jayden Daniels, and he continues to be a popular pick. The good thing about this week’s roundup is there are no more trade ups for the former Fighting Irish running back!

Inside the fallout of the Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel photos – ESPN
While The Athletic had been quick to rush to her defense ahead of the story, now executives asked for more evidence from Russini such as text messages about an airport pickup, screenshots of planning the trip or photos from a hike, the three people said. They said Russini never provided sufficient evidence. On Friday, April 10, ESPN reported that The Athletic had launched an investigation into her NFL coverage and the nature of her relationship with Vrabel, and a person familiar with the matter told ESPN that she would not be reporting during that process.
2026 Positional Draft Success vs Free Agent Availability – Over The Cap
These numbers really should be giving us some strong guidance. While there may be a great grading off ball linebacker available in the draft, wouldn’t I be better off as a GM to simply sign a top 5 linebacker in free agency and draft a good left tackle even if he grades a bit lower than taking that linebacker in the draft and signing the 18th best left tackle? I would think so.
