The injury has put the title match in jeopardy, and the new report raises concerns. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), the insider suggested there’s uncertainty around Nikki Bella’s status, as it was reported that her in-ring status is currently up in the air heading into the biggest event of the year in Nevada.

The report comes after the former Divas Champion was spotted in Las Vegas using a walking boot. Tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown and the Hall of Fame ceremony will clear the air on Nikki Bella’s and The Bella Twins’ status for WrestleMania 42.

Nikki Bella’s last WrestleMania match was nearly a decade ago

Over a decade ago, Nikki Bella was the face of the Divas division and broke records as the champion. Eventually, she lost the title to Charlotte Flair and spent months away from in-ring competition due to a severe neck issue. Upon her return in 2016, she became a part-time performer and moved into reality television.

She feuded with Carmella, Natalya, and Maryse when she was on the blue brand and got the opportunity to team up with her then real-life boyfriend, John Cena. The power couple went head-to-head against The Miz and Maryse. The two couples competed in a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.

After the match, The Franchise Player went down on one knee and proposed to The Fearless One in front of thousands, and she said yes. The two went on hiatus following the segment and eventually parted ways in the years that followed. This was Nikki Bella’s last in-ring match at The Grandest Stage of Them All, and the former Divas Champion could change that in the coming days.
