Perhaps it was because it was Masters Sunday, or perhaps it was because fans simply had better things to do, but the crowd at the NASCAR Cup Series race in Bristol left a lot to be desired.
The NASCAR Cup Series returned to Bristol on Sunday. Ty Gibbs took home the win at the Food City 500, held at Bristol Motor Speedway. Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe rounded out the top five.

But while the drivers were having success, the crowd left a lot to be desired, according to fans in attendance.
NASCAR fans were quick to point out the “embarrassing” attendance at Bristol on Sunday. Fans suggested that Bristol shouldn’t have two races.
“Bristol attendance is rough today. There’s no reason this place should have two races,” one fan noted.

“Dude inside the track is so bad. I’m stunned,” one fan wrote.

“I don’t think it helps their case to be running Bristol on masters Sunday…. Competing against that is a losing battle,” one fan added.
“They think formula 1 style racing is what people want. It’s not. People want to see the bang and bash. So take the speed away some and go back to what made it great. Also, dump the dang “car of tomorrow” cookie cutter crap and go back to cars you can buy on Monday…. Let Chevy, Ford, and Dodge go back to building sports cars and get your people back into hot rodding,” one fan added.
“This was 2009. BMS used to the one of the toughest tickets in sports. Now it has a fraction in attendance,” one fan added.
