In the latest episode of Impact!, Father James Mitchell took Tessa Blanchard to the Undead Realm. In the storyline, Rosemary is trying to bring back Allie for which she needs some aid from Mitchell. Before asking Mitchell for help, she reunited him with his son Abyss on the show. After seeing his father, the Monster asked him for forgiveness from his sins. This was the first instance of Abyss and James appearing together on TNA programming since February 2019.

It will be interesting to see if this is going to be a one-off appearance or will Abyss continue to partake in the ongoing storyline with Rosemary and Allie.

2026 started off in WWE with AJ Styles going after Gunther to seek revenge for John Cena. On the December 13th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, The Ring General made Cena tap out in his final wrestling match to end his pro wrestling career. In the following week’s, Gunther constantly disrespect Cena by boasting that he made him give up.

Styles stood up to Gunther and faced him at the Royal Rumble PLE in a match where his career was on the line. The Phenomenal One passed out to Gunther’s Sleeper Hold marking the end of his career. A few weeks later, the company was in Atlanta and hosted a special episode of WWE RAW to celebrate AJ’s in-ring career. The Monster Abyss made a surprise appearance during the episode in a backstage segment. He was also present in the ring for the main event segment.

AJ Styles is getting inducted into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame this year. The ceremony will take place on the night before WrestleMania 42.
