Sport Bild reports that Bayer Leverkusen are planning to overhaul their squad once again as they look to make room for loan returnees.

This summer is looking like another big one at the BayArena. There has been talk about the future of head coach Kasper Hjulmand, and now there could also be major changes on the pitch.

Both Robert Andrich and Jonas Hofmann could be candidates to be sold in the summer if they do not receive sufficient playing time. Andrich has not lived up to the defensive leader that die Werkself had hoped for him, while Hofmann’s time at the club ebbs and flows from being over to him having another chance.

Elsewhere, in attacking Martin Terrier and Eliesse Ben Seghir’s futures are open. The latter has been more or less a failure since moving from Monaco in the summer. While Edmond Tapsoba is finally looking to make his move to the Premier League.

The future of Jarell Quansah also remains uncertain; however, this is based on whether Liverpool decides to activate his buy-back clause. This summer, the clause is said to be worth €70-80m, then next year it drops, which would then allow him to replace Virgil van Dijk.

Leverkusen’s exciting young players:

The exodus of players will make room for an exciting crop of young players that Leverkusen want to include in the squad in the summer.

Francis Onyeka will return from a successful loan spell at Bochum, while they have also activated the buy-back clause of Kerim Alajbegovic following his move from Red Bull Salzburg last summer. The 18-year-olds are expected to play a role next season.

In defence, Tim Oermann, Jeanëul Belocian and Axel Tape will also be given a bigger role, and the emergence of academy player Montrell Culbreath has sorted Leverkusen’s right back situation.
