In a recent interview with Algemeen Dagblad, Nathan Ake spoke on a variety of topics. Speaking on what Pep Guardiola said to him after Ake played a vital role in Manchester City’s Carabao Cup win over Arsenal, the Dutch defender said: “He (Pep Guardiola) said he was super proud of me. And that I played a top match. We have been through so much together in the last six years.”

Nathan Ake was also asked about his future. Ake revealed that he was unsure about his future. He added that if this were to be his final season at Manchester City, winning the Carabao Cup would be a great ending to his time at City: “I have no idea. But winning the Carabao would certainly be a nice ending.”
Nathan Ake may be one of several key contributors to leave City this summer.
This summer looms as one when a host of senior players at Manchester City could leave the club. As it stands currently, there are doubts that surround the futures of Bernardo Silva, Nathan Ake, John Stones, and Mateo Kovacic. Rodri after his recent comments can be added to that list. Those five players are senior members of Pep Guardiola’s squad. If they all left next summer there would be a massive void in terms of experience, and talent, to be filled in the City squad.
