Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth in the Premier League at Vitality Stadium on Friday.
United were presented with the game’s first chance inside the opening fifth minute as Amad Diallo forced Dorde Petrovic into a smart save, and at the other end, Rayan Christie dragged his effort wide following a swift counterattack.

Moments later, Petrovic made two huge saves, denying Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes the opener before Senne Lammens kept out Christie’s strike at the other end.
In the 23rd minute, the Cherries appealed for a penalty after Evanilson went down in the area under the challenge of Harry Maguire, but referee Stuart Attwell waved play on.
Just past the half-hour mark, Fernandes looked destined to open the scoring after he met Diogo Dalot’s cross at the far post, but Petrovic made another fine save with his foot.
Moments later, Lammens was called into action again as he denied Marcus Tavernier from a free kick.

Shortly after the restart, Tavernier teed up with Christie, but his first-time effort flew over the bar before Alejandro Jimenez curled wide of Lammens’ left post.
On the hour mark, the Red Devils were awarded a penalty after Jimenez brought Cunha down in the box. Fernandes stepped up for the spot kick and converted.
Minutes later, United appealed for another penalty after Amad went down under a challenge from Adrien Truffert, but no penalty was given.
In the 67th minute, Christie restored parity for the hosts, finishing off a swift counter.
However, four minutes later, United retook the lead when James Hill deflected Fernandes’ corner into his own net.

In the 81st minute, the Cherries were awarded a penalty, and Maguire was sent off for denying Evanilson a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Eli Junior Kroupi despatched the spot kick coolly to restore parity again for the hosts.
Bournemouth have now extended their unbeaten run to 11 games following the draw, while Manchester United remain in third place.
