The Iron Sheik was a true legend in the WWF. He was one of the reasons why Hulk Hogan rose to prominence, as he had the heel figure of Sheik to oppose. Unfortunately, the WWE Hall of Famer passed away in 2023 when he suffered a cardiac arrest at his home. Now, a veteran has revealed that no other wrestler apart from him attended The Iron Sheik’s funeral in Atlanta.
While speaking on Going Ringside, Sgt. Slaughter recalled The Iron Sheik’s funeral. Slaughter stated he was the only wrestler at the funeral, which he felt was horrendous. Not just the absence of wrestlers, but the fact that almost all the wrestlers stayed in Atlanta, and they did not bother to be there for the legend one last time. He felt it was kind of a slap in the face and deemed it disrespectful.
