NASCAR Betting Guide: Driver Picks for Darlington

Chris Buescher – Top-10 Finish (+135)

Not only is RFK Racing coming off one of its best showings of the season at Las Vegas, but Chris Buescher also snagged his second top-10 finish of the year. The No. 17 team has been performing pretty consistently thus far, boasting a 12.6 average position mid-race, and he’s ninth in average finishing position (13.2). Buescher has finished 10th or better in five of the last six races at Darlington, and he was seventh in both stages of the one outlier (May 2024) before issues derailed his day. A top-10 on Sunday feels appropriate for Buescher.

Ty Gibbs – Top-10 Finish (+165)

Ty Gibbs is silencing a lot of critics in recent weeks. As his reputation comes under scrutiny and the legal battle between Joe Gibbs Racing and Spire Motorsports reveals unflattering comments about Gibbs, he is performing behind the wheel. He’s twice qualified in the top 10 during the last three races, and he boasts an average finishing position of 4.33 in that span. He finished second and ninth in the last two spring races at Darlington, and we see him doing it again.

Denny Hamlin – Top-3 Finish (+165)

When you’re hot, you’re hot. Denny Hamlin isn’t just coming off the win at Las Vegas, he’s also delivered three consecutive top-10 finishes and he’s said he treats 10th at COTA like a top-five finish on ovals. Darlington is also one of Hamlin’s best tracks, as evidenced by the fact he has the highest average finishing position (9.3) with the fifth-most laps led (230) among active drivers since 2023. We don’t think it will be back-to-back wins for the No. 11 team, but he’ll shine with tire management on Sunday.

Chase Briscoe – Race Winner (+250)

It’s been a difficult start to the season for Chase Briscoe and the No. 19 team, with three finishes of 36th or worse heading into Darlington. However, this is a track that Martin Truex Jr. dominated at, with two wins and four top fives. Briscoe has won here twice, but those both came in the fall, whereas he’s placed 28th and fifth in his last two spring races at Darlington. After what we saw from the No. 19 on Sunday in Las Vegas, we think Briscoe could get his first win of the season this weekend.
