Mo Alie-Cox’s tenure continues for another year. On Saturday evening news broke that the former VCU Rams Forward turned NFL Tight End re-signed on a 1 year deal with his only NFL team of his career.
From his humble practice squad origins learning the game of football in 2017, to backing up Jack Doyle and Eric Ebron in 2018, to becoming the lead Tight End in 2021 after Doyle’s retirement, to handing the reigns over to rookie sensation Tyler Warren in 2025… Mo Alie-Cox’s football journey has been a long grind of toughness, strength, and development. He has played 125 games for the Colts and needs just 7 more games in the Colts horseshoe to pass his former teammate Jack Doyle for 2nd most by a Tight End in Indianapolis history. Should he play all 17 games in 2025 he will be just 4 games shy from tying the record set by Marcus Pollard as the longest tenured Colts Tight End.
During his time with the Colts he has been a locker room favorite with his leadership by example shining through in humility and dedication to doing the “dirty work” on the field. His blocking prowess became so acclaimed, it became teach tape for current Colts Tight End coach Tom Manning back when he was coaching at Iowa State.
