A few hours after announcing the dismissal of Hernán Crespo, São Paulo is already arranging the hiring of a new coach for the 2026 season.

The name chosen by the tricolor board is Roger Machado.

According to journalist André Hernan from Espn Brasil, the 51-year-old coach from Rio Grande do Sul will sign a contract until the end of 2026, when President Massis’s term ends.

Roger Machado is expected to arrive in São Paulo this Tuesday (10th), sign the contract, and lead the 4 PM (Brasília time) training session to be on the bench against Chapecoense on Thursday (12th) at Canindé, for the fifth round of the Brasileirão.
