The main Portuguese clubs “like” to use social media to criticize refereeing decisions.

In third place in the Portuguese Championship, Benfica reinforced this “habit” on Friday (27).

The Reds were not at all pleased with the penalty call that made the difference for Porto to beat Arouca and remain the isolated league leader.

The match held at Estádio do Dragão was tied at 1-1 when the incident involving Yellu Santiago, from the visiting team, and Seko Fofana occurred.

Referee Iancu Vasilica understood that Santiago tackled the opponent inside the area, awarding the penalty already at 43 minutes of the final stage.

The play was reviewed by VAR, which did not change the on-field decision.

São Paulo’s own William Gomes took the penalty and put Porto ahead at 46′.
