Rory McIlroy has put together an outstanding PGA Tour career, but there have been a few bumps along the way for the Northern Irishman.
McIlroy has stacked up 29 PGA Tour wins so far, with five majors among them.

He’s also part of a very exclusive group, being one of just six players to complete the career Grand Slam.
The 36-year-old has had more than his share of good moments compared to most on the Tour, but he hasn’t been without setbacks either.

McIlroy’s start to the 2013 season wasn’t exactly smooth. He got knocked out early at the Accenture World Matchplay, then things got even worse when he showed up at the Honda Classic.
Already seven-over-par in his second round, he decided to walk away from the tournament and head straight for the parking lot.

Reporters followed him, wanting to know if an injury was behind his decision, but McIlroy dismissed that idea several times before admitting:
“There’s not really much I can say, guys. I’m not in a good place mentally, you know?”
The man from Holywood didn’t win on Tour that year, but just a year later, he responded by picking up two major titles. There’s probably something worth remembering in that turnaround.

Few people on the PGA Tour in 2013 knew Rory McIlroy as well as Graeme McDowell did.
After McIlroy withdrew from the Honda Classic, Graeme McDowell noticed a significant change in his friend’s demeanor and explained exactly why he felt that way:
