At a time when many within boxing are without a substantial television deal, Matchroom Boxing has reinforced its position as one of the sport’s top promoters.

Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom announced a new five-year extension to its media rights deal with sports streaming service DAZN on Tuesday.

Matchroom initially signed an 8-year, $1 billion U.S. TV deal in 2018 with DAZN, then added a five-year partnership in the UK in 2021. The deal has also allowed Matchroom to promote consistently in other territories, including Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

Tuesday’s announcement means Matchroom’s worldwide shows will be on DAZN until 2031. The pact calls for more than 30 events per year.

As part of the announcement, Matchroom also confirmed an eight-show deal for 2026 with Foxtel, the Australian pay television company recently acquired by DAZN.

Matchroom’s boxing stable includes Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor, Dmitry Bivol, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, Jaron “Boots” Ennis, Conor Benn, Dalton Smith, Ben Whittaker, Lewis Crocker, Josh Kelly and Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez, among others.

The announcement sees Matchroom join Zuffa Boxing as the only two U.S. boxing promoters with long-term media rights deals, both of which are set to last until 2031. From a UK standpoint, both Matchroom and Queensberry own long-term television contracts.

“DAZN is the only partner that matches our ambitions for boxing,” Hearn said. “Their global platform, investment, passion and commitment to boxing make them the perfect partner for Matchroom Boxing’s fighters and events. This new, five-year deal in two of the world’s most important boxing markets reinforces our belief and trust in DAZN, and the scale of what we can achieve together.”
