The No. 24 Tennessee women’s golf team won the Florida Atlantic Paradise Invitational on Wednesday at Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton, Florida.
The Lady Vols won the three-day, 72-hole event with a team score of 10-under 854, defeating Kentucky by four strokes. Clemson finished in third place (-3), followed by Georgia (+4) and Oklahoma (+5).

Tennessee’s Kyra Van Kan, a sophomore and Johannesburg, South Africa native, also earned low medalist honors. She recorded a three-round score of 10-under (206) to win the first individual championship of her collegiate career. Tennessee’s Madison Messimer finished in second place (210), while Kaopan Thapasit and Manassanan Chotikabhukkana (215) finished tied for 11th. Sophie Christopher also tied for 40th place (223).

Van Kan totaled 17 birdies in the tournament, including six in Wednesday’s final round. Her total was four more than any other golfer in the field of 90 competitors. Van Kan’s total score is tied for the third best 54-hole performance in program history.
Messimer, who was even through three rounds, finished 1-under in the third round. A freshman and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina native, has now posted four top-10 individual finishes in the first five events of her college career. She had four birdies on the final nine holes.
