The Scottish Warrior’s credibility took a major toll after their promo on the red-branded show, and WWE must find a way to restore his image this Friday on SmackDown. With that in mind, here are three things he could do to remind fans exactly how dangerous he is.
3. He could cut his own promo on Reigns and Punk
Like Reigns and Punk, Drew McIntyre has the ability to get the audience hooked with a strong promo. As a heel, his mic work has been off the charts, and he could respond to them on SmackDown by cutting a promo in the ring.
McIntyre could point out that he pushed both of them to their limits, and they had to resort to cheap tactics to throw him off his path. He could go as far as to challenge Reigns himself, taunting him to fight him one-on-one at WrestleMania despite the events on Monday.
2. He could defend his title inside the Elimination Chamber and retain
WWE has announced that qualifying matches for the Elimination Chamber will start next week on RAW. However, they haven’t announced whether it will be for a title shot at WrestleMania or whether a championship will be defended inside the steel structure.
In a bid to prove himself to be better than both Punk and Reigns, Drew McIntyre could put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line inside the Elimination Chamber and come out victorious. This way, he would gain a lot of momentum heading into the Show of Shows this year, potentially getting on the same level as Punk and Reigns.
1. Drew McIntyre could brutally assault Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu
Rhodes and Fatu were set to face each other in a singles match at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIII. However, they ended up brawling as the contest never officially began. They were eventually taken out by Drew McIntyre, who sent both of them crashing through tables in the crowd.
At the Royal Rumble as well, McIntyre hit Cody Rhodes with a Claymore to eliminate him from the match, as The American Nightmare was dangling from the ropes. Tonight, he could take out not only Rhodes but also Jacob Fatu and leave them completely broken.
This will remind fans exactly why he is one of the biggest stars on the roster, as well as how much of a threat he can truly be once he is angry. It now remains to be seen how things pan out on SmackDown this week.
