I’m always looking for ways to make practice more productive without needing to live at the driving range. One of the biggest things I focus on when working on my swing is what’s happening at impact, and that’s not always easy to feel. That’s why I wanted to try the Eagle Mat Pro from Fairway Jockey. I was curious how much it could really tell me about my swing. Turns out, I learned a lot.

Easy to set-up, even easier to use
Right from the jump, this training aid was ridiculously easy to use. Simply set the board down, then, take a swing. After each swing, just slide the sequins back the opposite direction to reset the Eagle Mat Pro. As I practiced, I really appreciated the immediate feedback from the high-contrast sequins that appears across the two-tone surface. I didn’t even have to hit a ball, yet I got instant feedback on what my club was doing through impact.
Immediate feedback on your swing
What stood out right away was how clearly the mat exposed patterns in my swing – both good and bad. With a few swings under my belt, I was able to recognize when I was coming over the top and when I was getting slotted and delivering a square face at impact. I could even tell when my strikes favored the heel or toe. Instead of guessing what went wrong, the board made it obvious.

It also made practice far more engaging than I expected. I started treating it like a challenge, trying to create the cleanest, most centered strike mark possible. Once I dialed it in with my wedge, I switched to my irons and immediately noticed how my bad habits were manifesting with longer clubs.
Dial in your swing anytime, anywhere
What I appreciated most was how I could use it anywhere. If I had a couple extra minutes between calls, I could use the Eagle Mat Pro on its own indoors, or if I was looking for a more complete setup, I could pair it with a ball and net. Either way, it added structure and purpose to my swings instead of just rehearsing my swing in the air and hoping for the best.
After using it, I can see why this product went viral a few years ago. The Eagle Mat Pro doesn’t overcomplicate things – it just shows you what’s happening at impact and lets you work from there. For me, it turned practice into something more focused, fun and effective.
