This week on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the veteran detailed that booking the match would be tricky. He noted that everyone was expecting AJ to lose the match against The Ring General and retire. He admitted that The Phenomenal One didn’t stand a chance against Gunther. Mantell was unsure how the match should be booked and wanted to see how WWE creative eventually does it.

“That’s a group decision. I really don’t know how I would book that. But if everybody, what if he made this statement off-hand? It’s not official. But he says that if he doesn’t win, I’m retiring. But everybody knows he’s retiring. So that’s like, the only way to fool them is for him to win, and he’s not going to win. See, if anybody would have won, I thought it would have been Goldberg against Gunther, which made no sense. But the people would at least believe, and on TV they would be happy that their guy won, but AJ can’t win, and everybody knows that. So I don’t know how to book this. We might leave it to that crack creative team at WWE to figure that out.”

AJ Styles faced CM Punk on RAW

It was a dream match in the main event of RAW as AJ Styles squared off against CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The match was made official after the first segment, when the two stars met in the ring, and Punk said he didn’t want to miss the opportunity to face Styles. This was the first time the two stars locked horns in WWE.

The match, however, ended in a no-contest after Finn Balor interfered and attacked Punk.
