Tyson Fury is back. The 37-year-old will return to the ring for the first time since 2024, ending his retirement to take on Arslanbek Makhmudov in April. The fight will be streamed on Netflix.
The company announced the fight — which takes place in the United Kingdom — in a statement Wednesday.
The fight marks the first time in four years that Fury will fight in the United Kingdom. It also marks the first time Netflix will stream a live event from the U.K.

Fury last appeared in the ring in 2024, when he lost to Oleksandr Usyk that December. He also faced Usyk that May, also losing that fight. Fury’s last win came in 2023, when he narrowly beat former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou that October. He holds a career record of 34-2-1 (24 KOs).
Fury’s return to the ring shouldn’t come as a major surprise. He’s retired and returned numerous times already, and already announced he was prepared to make a comeback in 2026. After posting multiple videos on Instagram in January in which he appeared to be training, Fury essentially confirmed his return to the ring Jan. 15, when he said the “return of the mac was imminent.”
While some believed Fury’s return fight would come against Anthony Joshua, the 36-year-old Joshua was involved in a car crash in Nigeria in late December. Prior to the crash, tentative plans were underway for Fury and Joshua to each compete once against separate opponents in early 2026 before meeting in their long-awaited matchup later in the year, though it’s unclear if Joshua’s crash has changed things. While a fight between Fury and Joshua has come close numerous times, the two have never faced each other.

Makhmudov, 36, fought as recently as October, when he defeated David Allen. Makhmudov holds a 21-2 (19 KOs) record and is known for his devastating power.
Netflix announced it will air the fight at “no additional cost” to subscribers. The company is also working with Fury on two different documentaries, one of which — titled “At Home with the Furys” — is set to air in the spring.
