Scottie Scheffler had a little bit of new and little bit of old in his golf bag as he ran away from the field at the American Express.

After playing TaylorMade’s new Qi4D driver and 3-wood at the Hero World Challenge last month, Scheffler made a surprise move back to his Qi10 top of bag for his 2026 debut, which he’s used for most of the last two seasons.

This move shouldn’t end up being long-term. Scheffler’s pretty close with his testing of the Qi4D, but he has now won 14 times with the Qi10 driver and 3-wood. It’s easy to develop a level of comfort when you play so well with those clubs that you fall back on them.
