A fan on X recently dropped a list with the number of matches AJ has had every year. Styles responded to the tweet with an emoji showing his disappointment. Another fan replied on that post saying that Styles got pretty busy after 2016 when he joined WWE. The Phenomenal One replied to the fan stating that he’s been busy throughout his career and the list isn’t accurate.

“I was pretty busy as soon as I started wrestling. These aren’t accurate.” He wrote.

Styles has consistently been one of the most hardworking wrestlers in every company he has worked for. Fans around the world respect him as one of the all time greats.

AJ Styles is going to retire this year

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee and currently the reigning World Tag Team Champions on Monday Night RAW. The Phenomenal One announced last year before his match with John Cena at Crown Jewel that he will also be stepping away from in-ring competition in 2026.

At the Crown Jewel 2025 Kick-Off show, Styles announced that 2026 will be his final year as an active performer. Fans around the world were disheartened to hear this news. However, Styles has stated multiple times that he wants to retire while he is still able to put on great matches.

It will be interesting to see how WWE will book AJ Styles’ retirement run.
