After a disappointing 2025, the St. Louis Cardinals are retooling. The team took a major step in that direction Tuesday, reportedly trading ace Sonny Gray to the Boston Red Sox, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman.
Gray, 36, is coming off a season in which he posted a 4.28 ERA over 180 2/3 innings.
Gray reportedly waived his no-trade clause to join Boston, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
