The Jets are going to have another player returning kicks and punts this Sunday.

New York announced Saturday it will release WR/KR Isaiah Williams ahead of their Week 5 showdown with the Dallas Cowboys. Williams took over kick returning duties for Xavier Gipson after the latter fumbled in the team's Week 1 loss to the Steelers. In three games, Isaiah Williams returned two punts for 29 yards and three kicks for 70 yards. However, in Monday's loss to the Dolphins, Isaiah Williams fumbled the opening kickoff of the second half and made a fair catch that pinned the Jets back on their own three-yard line.

In other moves, the Jets are signing LB Mykal Walker from the practice squad while elevating safety Dean Clark and recently-signed kick returner Avery Williams from the practice squad.

SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes reported the Jets' signing of Avery Williams after he had a tryout with the team on Thursday.

Avery Williams was drafted in the fifth round (183rd overall) by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021 NFL Draft. While he has caught some passes in his career — 13 receptions on 14 targets for 61 yards — he's made his football career returning kicks. Last season, he returned 20 punts for 185 yards and 15 kickoffs for 408 yards.

For his career, Williams has 58 punt returns for 630 yards and 54 kickoffs for 1211 yards. He does not have a touchdown in his career.
