The Jets announced they have waived six players on Saturday, as the deadline to lock in the 53-man roster draws near.

The six players released include: CB Mario Goodrich, T Samuel Jackson, TE Neal Johnson, WR Dymere Miller, DT Fatorma Mullbah and WR Ontaria "Pokey" Wilson.

Miller and Wilson could not make the wide receiver room this season. Miller was a Rutgers standout last year, catching 59 passes for 757 yards and four touchdowns. He was an undrafted free agent with the Jets this year and did see the field this preseason. He had two kick returns for 33 yards and one 24-yard reception.

As for Wilson, the former Florida State product played in the CFL last year, where he hauled in 71 passes for 1026 yards and three touchdowns, but did not make an impact on the field in the preseason.

Tight end Johnson signed a reserves/future deal with the Jets in January but made just two catches for 27 yards in the preseason.

Goodrich is a second-year player from Clemson and was claimed off waivers from the Broncos in early August. He made eight tackles in the preseason. Mullbah made three tackles this summer after recording 75 total tackles at West Virginia in 26 games before joining the Jets in May.

As for first-year offensive lineman Jackson, he'll have to try and find a new landing spot after playing with the Houston Roughnecks of the UFL last season.

The deadline for all NFL teams to reduce their roster to 53 players is Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 4 p.m. ET. The Jets will be able to build out their practice squad of 16 players after cuts are made.
