PSG have shown strong interest in Bournemouth defender Illya Zabarnyi in recent weeks, but negotiations remain difficult with both clubs refusing to back down.

According to L’Équipe’s Loïc Tanzi, PSG have opened talks for the 22-year-old, who is reportedly open to the move, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon. However, Bournemouth are holding firm on their €70 million valuation.

On Sunday, CaughtOffside reported that Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks to sign Zabarnyi as a potential replacement for Cristian Romero.

Tottenham are reportedly one of the few clubs willing to meet the full asking price for the Bournemouth defender. They’re said to be preparing an offer worth more than €70 million, including bonuses. Despite the interest, Zabarnyi remains focused on Paris Saint-Germain and isn’t currently engaging in discussions with other clubs.

Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs, as they look to find a reliable partner for Sven Botman ahead of their return to the Champions League. CaughtOffside adds that Chelsea have added Zabarnyi to their long-term center-back shortlist, while Liverpool are said to be exploring him as a possible successor to Ibrahima Konaté, though they have yet to make a formal move.
