Roma continue to explore the market for central defenders to strengthen the backline in view of the new season.
One of the most relevant names on Massara and Gasperini’s notebook is Jhon Lucumí, a pillar of Bologna.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Colombian defender has a release clause of 28 million euros, active only until July 10.
Once that date has expired, the Emilian club will be free to negotiate the transfer under different conditions, but still not much lower.
Roma are not the only ones interested: Aston Villa, some Turkish teams and other Premier League clubs are also interested in the player.
However, Lucumí’s desire to stay in Italy could make things easier for the Giallorossi.
The defence is a priority for the new Roma coach and the addition of the Colombian would guarantee solidity and international experience, fundamental elements for building a reliable defence.
