SARTELL — Willmar junior Kennedy Mara continued her streak of top-10 finishes in Central Lakes Conference meets on Wednesday.

Playing at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club, Mara tied for sixth place with a 9-over par 81. She was tied with Detroit Lakes’ Sophie Christianson.

In previous CLC meets, Mara won with a 72 on April 15 in Sauk Rapids and took second with a 75 at Detroit Lakes on April 21.

Willmar placed fifth with a team score of 365. Detroit Lakes won the team title with 318, followed by Alexandria with 349 and Brainerd with 361.

Brainerd, Sartell (362) and Willmar each finished within four strokes of each other.

Junior Lucia Martin Rodriguez tied for 17th with 93 and senior Avery Olson tied for 19th with 94. Freshman Raelynn Means rounded out the team score with a 97, putting her in a tie for 24th.

“Very windy conditions (made it a) difficult night for the Willmar Cardinals,” said Willmar head coach Bryan Mara.

Detroit Lakes junior Tatum Gatheridge secured medalist honors with a3-over par 75. Alexandria’s Rachel Bowen and St. Cloud’s Sara Balmori tied for second with 79s.

Willmar’s next contest is a CLC meet at 3 p.m. Monday at Territory Golf Club in St. Cloud.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City junior Brooke Brekke secured medalist honors at the Sauk Centre Invite at Greystone Golf Club in Sauk Centre.

Over 18 holes, Brekke carded a 7-over par 79. She finished six strokes ahead of Barnesville’s Ella Brasel’s 85. Albany’s Kendall Stueve was third with an 88.

Led by medalist Will Otto, Watertown-Mayer won a Wright County Conference boys quadrangular at Albion Ridges Golf Course in Annandale.

The Royals scored a 168, followed by Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted/Maple Lake’s 169, Rockford’s 182 and Litchfield’s 186.

Otto claimed medalist honors in the nine-hole round with an even-par 36.

Seniors Carstan Milender and Ty Olson paced the Dragons. They tied for seventh with 44s.
