Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has announced it will embark on a $6 million renovation to its clubhouse and golf course. The work to the golf course will begin in 2026 and will be conducted by architect and club member Chris Wilczynski, a Michigan native whose work stretches across the U.S.

Much of the work to the golf course will focus on the strategic placement of bunkers, which will be rebuilt with Billy Bunker liners to improve drainage and maintenance. Plans also call for expanding greens and realigning fairways on the layout that was originally designed by Bill Newcomb and opened in 1977. Going even further, improved drainage will be added and an expansive tree project will be ongoing on the course that was the site of the LPGA’s Volvik Championship from 2016 to 2018.

The extensive work to the clubhouse begins this year and will focus on providing an entirely new aesthetic and open design with the dining room and bar at its center. Comus Consulting and The Alan Group will lead the clubhouse enhancements, which include expanded outdoor dining areas and open-air venues. Work is expected to wrap up in the spring of 2026. The Atlanta-based Bobby Jones Links will continue to oversee management of the member-owned Travis Pointe Country Club through construction and beyond.
