Kofi Kingston was the greatest example as Daniel Bryan had won the World Heavyweight title before the Yes! Movement.

Several popular stars deserve a major title run, but due to how Triple H books things, the next five may never capture major gold.

#5. Shinsuke Nakamura’s multiple start-stop pushes

Shinsuke Nakamura won the 2018 Royal Rumble but lost to AJ Styles at WrestleMania. Since then, he’s won both mid-card titles. The main issue is that, for some reason, Triple H knew how to book him in NXT.

When it came to the main roster, he forgot how to present The King of Strong Style. The Dark Ronin character had great potential, but, like all of his other pushes, officials muffled it.

Being over 40 isn’t a valid excuse, as John Cena, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns have all won titles close to or over the age of 40.

#4. Penta is a marketable WWE star

This is a more recent addition, but since he can even win the Intercontinental Championship, a major title seems like a pipe dream.

Penta joined WWE at the beginning of 2025. He’s extremely over with the crowd but isn’t treated like a big star.

He’s routinely fallen short against Dominik Mysterio and wasn’t a factor (6:01) in the 2026 Royal Rumble. Triple H seems to book him with fellow Luchadores instead of as one of the top faces in WWE.

#3. Chelsea Green deserves WWE’s consideration

WWE’s latest season of Unreal on Netflix pulled back the curtain regarding how out of touch backstage officials see Chelsea Green.

Despite being one of the most over stars in the women’s division, Green apparently exists only to make others look better.

That would be fine if she weren’t entertaining, but the former Women’s US Champion excels as a character and in the ring. “Being over” isn’t a good excuse for not crowning a popular star as a champion.

Jey Uso is proof of that. Despite her selflessness and commitment to the craft, officials will likely never reward her with a major title run.

#2. LA Knight can’t catch a break

Just like Chelsea Green and others in WWE, LA Knight is one of the most complete and popular stars on the roster.

He’s challenged for a major title on a few occasions, but has usually been a victim of outside interference or the numbers game.

The Megastar regularly elicits one of the loudest responses from the crowd, but the best Triple H will do is a mid-card title run.

In a time when he needs to invest in more stars as main-eventers, the reluctance to crown Knight as a major champion is mind-boggling.

#1. The tiring treatment of Sami Zayn

The fact that Sami Zayn has never won a major WWE title has been a working storyline for the last two years. People can claim it’ll happen next year at WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia, and it may.

But since he’s now 0-12 against Drew McIntyre, it feels like the angle won’t have a fitting end for Zayn fans.

He could win Money in the Bank. However, with other younger stars rising in the ranks, the likelihood of winning a major title shrinks with every month.
