The Mets have four players on Baseball America’s new Top 100 prospects list for 2025, and one of them is a relative surprise.

The players are:

INF/OF Jett Williams: No. 58
RHP
Brandon Sproat: No. 61
INF Jesus Baez: No. 92
RHP Nolan McLean: No. 99

The surprise of the group is Baez, a 19-year-old who hit .262/.335/.447 with 11 home runs, 17 doubles, and nine stolen bases in 72 games last season for A-ball St. Lucie and High-A Brooklyn.

Baez played just eight games with Brooklyn after his promotion, since a meniscus tear ended his season early. He’s expected to begin 2025 back in Brooklyn.

SNY contributor Joe DeMayo notes in his recent Top 30 Mets prospects list that Baez, whose big league ETA is 2027, is an aggressive hitter with plus bat speed whose long-term home is likely third base.

As far as the other players on the list, they all have a chance to reach the majors this season.

Williams, who missed a large chunk of last year due to a wrist injury that required surgery, is expected to begin the year with Double-A Binghamton.

Sproat will start the season back at Triple-A Syracuse, while McLean will likely be back in Double-A.

Notably absent from BA’s Top 100 were 1B/OF Ryan Clifford, OF Drew Gilbert, OF Carson Benge, and INF Ronny Mauricio, who have all appeared on other Top 100 lists over the last year or so.
