Crooked Stick. The Club at Carlton Woods. Innisbrook Copperhead. Lake Nona. Pasatiempo. There’s definitely a few golf courses that will catch your eye if you were to scan the list of local qualifying sites for the 2026 U.S. Open.
One of them, the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook, hosts the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship. The Club at Carlton Woods was the host venue for the Chevron Championship, an LPGA major, while Lake Nona regularly hosts the LPGA’s season opener, the Tournament of Champions.

Then there’s Pasatiempo. It’s a rarity in American golf as it’s a private course that allows limited access to outside play. It ranks No. 39 on Golfweek’s Best list of classic courses in the U.S., and because it allows some public play, it ranks No. 11 among the top 100 public-access courses in the U.S.
No. 18 at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, California
The legendary course recently upgraded its greens. If your handicap is low enough and you can get your entry filed in time, maybe this is your chance to play one of America’s great golf courses. But time is of the essence.
Local qualifying will be 18 holes at 110 golf courses in 46 states. as well as Canada and Mexico. The online application process began Feb. 18 and closes on April 8 at 5 p.m. ET. Of note:
