Earlier today, the global juggernaut updated their AAA roster page, which now consists of 27 stars with a few new entries, including La Catalina. Other noteworthy names added to the page are Galeno and Andrea Bazarte.

For those unaware, William Regal offered La Catalina, aged just 17, a WWE developmental contract after a tryout. She signed a deal with the company after she turned 18.

La Catalina made her television debut for the company on an episode of Monday Night RAW in November 2019. She showed up wearing a luchador mask as Sin Cara’s tag team partner named Carolina. They lost the mixed tag team bout to Andrade and Zelina Vega.

She soon returned to NXT, where she had previously competed at House Shows. The Chilean pro wrestler also went back to her in-ring name, Catalina Garcia. She was repackaged as Katrina Cortez at NXT New Year’s Evil 2021, and she left the company later that year in October, making her final in-ring appearance on an episode of WWE 205 Live.

La Catalina is set for a massive title match in AAA

In her last televised in-ring appearance, La Catalina defeated Adelicious, Lady Shani, La Hiedra, and Thea Hail in a Gauntlet Match to become the number one contender for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.

La Catalina will wrestle the current champion, Flammer, for the title on Night Two of Triplemania 34. The second night of the show will air live from the Arena CDMX in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, on September 13.

Flammer won the title back in August 2023 and has already defended it against several top names, including WWE Superstars Bayley and Natalya. Her most recent title defense was against La Catalina and Lady Shani in a triple threat match.

La Catalina will enter Night Two of Triplemania 34 in search of her first title in AAA. It will be interesting to see if she manages to end Flammer’s incredible title reign that has surpassed 1125 days.
