The second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament is complete. After four days of nonstop tournament action, the field has been reduced to the Sweet 16 after eight teams punched their ticket to the second weekend of the tournament in different ways.

No. 1 seed Duke advanced with a blowout 89-66 win over No. 9 seed Baylor 89-66 to return to the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive year under coach Jon Scheyer. No. 4 seed Maryland delivered the best moment of the tournament so far when star big man Derik Queen knocked down a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to give his team a 72-71 win over No. 12 seed Colorado State.

One of the biggest winners of the weekend was No. 3 seed Kentucky. The Wildcats advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2019 in Year 1 of the Mark Pope era with an 84-75 win over No. 6 seed Illinois. The Wildcats will face SEC foe Tennessee in next week’s Sweet 16.
